Just wondering how many campsites are strict about their pitch sizes. One or two sites are not fussed how much room your tent takes up due to the open field approach, yet many sites have marked pitches. Should campsites make allowances for the larger than average tent?
------------- Camping is a bit like like fishing, you can never have enough equipment. The BT's won't bite but they just lick you and some...
I ring and tell them what size our tent is as it is not small with the extension on. Some pitches at the last site we stayed on were larger than others so the receptionist gave me a number of options for our size and this didn't cost any more for us but meant we didn't have to worry when we arrived unlike a couple of families we saw turn up with big tents. They obviously didn't check 1st.

Most places we have visited seem very relaxed, once we visited sea barn farm Dorset, lovely site but each pitch was marked out with white lines, tents very close to each other, the family next to us got warned for a guy petruding the line by a few inches!!!!. Gaz
