Hello all
has anyone got a SUV tent? We are old time campers, we took the kids all over England years ago. and now returning to camping trips, and would like to make the back of our forester our sleeping area, so having looked at SUV tents online, we have had a go at converting two tents into one, using a small one(all cut up to make the tunnel join to the back of the forester)and the larger one for living space. and we hope to try it out next weekend. but our real question is what do you book in to a camp site as?? no ones heard of a SUV. its a tent or camper?
ps if it all works we will upload some photos

Hi
We sleep in the back of our Berlingo. (Not quite an SUV!) we pitch a utility tent with a tarp awning reverse the van up to the awning hey presto! We always book in as a tent and have never been challenged.
We have camped in The S of France and slept in the van for a fortnight we pitched a (very) cheap pop up for storage and lived outside the whole holiday!
Good luck!

Hi
thank you, we will go for booking in as a tent, checking that cars are allowed to stay with the tent, we have come across a couple of sites which make you park elsewhere, hope to be away this weekend
