I am so excited after getting all the kit out the loft and shed today. 5 sleeps to go and of course we need to go to CAMPING WORLD tomorrow for a look and maybe a few things. It's like the 20th of December

I've just been out this evening to get some extra glasses for a large garden party we are having at the end of this month (IKEA is great for that by the way). The good news is that it does involve a large tent.
I can put the marquee up in 4 sleeps time (the easy bit) and once I can get inside, then get on with rigging the conduit and electricity, network and sound systems, heating and lighting and "frikkin laizerz" (the complex bit). Then, I can leisurely go on to build the bar and tables etc (the heavy bit) over the next week of evenings for a final set up for Saturday 31st - folks arrive at 3pm.
But I'm telling you the plot. Back on track, while I was out, I couldn't resist a few new little camping bits - like an electric central tent light, new scissors, chopping boards, BBQ tongs, frying pan, washing up brush. It's only a few days till I put a (large) tent up but it is 31 days to go till I can escape properly for a long New Forest weekend.
Just a new Igloo wheeled coolbox to source before then when SWMBO isn't looking (I like the look of the maxcold cube, she won't like the price)... and maybe some new windbreaks for an outdoor cooking area... and... and...

just borrowed a beast of a laser from a friend, for a party in acouple of weeks time.I have a couple of indoor ones, that i built myself. This bad boy burnt a hole in a crisp packet from nearly 2m away. Can't wait to really have a play with it tonight, put the batman sign up in the sky yesterday,

Cool stuff, but sounds like you could have a class 4 laser there. Given that you have built your own previously, I am sure that I don't need to tell you that this will seriously damage someone's retina if they catch the smallest glimpse directly down the beam, or reflections of the beam.
For the party, mount it high and aim upwards so that nobody can get it in their eyes.
Mine are commercially available lighting units used in entertainment, so within safe guidelines, won't burn holes in the marquee but are mighty pretty.
Take care and enjoy your party.

3 sleeps for us, just catching up on the last of the washing, then packing tomorrow. All the camping gear got organised at the weekend, so asides from really wanting to pick up a pair of new chairs beforehand if we can, and doing a bit of store cupboard topping up, we should be good to go!
7 nights, with my favourite people, in a tent, in a field- bliss!
Cant wait!
