Hi everyone!

We are getting a new tent this year and wondering which would be the best place to get one, its either Go Outdoors in Warrington or Outdoor megastore. There is a thread about Go Outdoors already but has anyone had any dealings with OM?

Thanks

Ordered from both with no issues. Though I'm sure not everyone has a hassle free service.

Bought 2 windbreaks from Outdoor Megastore just after Christmas. Good service and delivery. Also if you go through topcashback.co.uk you get 10.1% cashback!

The best "price match" deal of all is Go Outdoors' own. They match the price - then knock another 10% off.

And they're on both TCB and Quidco.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it

I'd echo this advice. Yes, there's another - not so glowing - thread about Go Outdoors at the moment but I've never had a problem with them and have actually got some good deals by using their price guarantee. On the other hand, I once ordered a tent from OMS which they failed to deliver, failed to update me and took ages to refund.

All companies can have a blip, from time to time, it's how they deal with that blip that counts. I wouldn't worry too much about buying from either company. Which one offers the best deal (bearing in mind that, if you have a loyalty card, Go will reduce their price by 10% over that of a competitor, selling the same item)?

We got our tent from OMS. No probs although they were very funny about price matching if they had not got it in the same colour.... anyhow. Price good (not great), tent good & service good & delivery good.

As lidds says, all companies can have a blip. The example Of G.O. sending out a return or display item is appalling.

On our first trip out after we returned to camping, two Easycamp chairs we bought from O.M. failed. We had to sit on the floor all week.

On our return we had the devil of a job getting them to take them back. As a result, I wouldn't buy furniture from them on-line, or any other big-ticket item, but I have called in and bought stuff in-store.

Never personally had a problem with G.O. and the £5 card has earned it's keep many times over. We got our BL6 for £630 with it, for example, price matched again a competitor's deal.

They all get the same stuff, made in the same factory, and they'll all get their share of duff kit. That's unless they unpack and personally check all supplies, and I've never heard of a retailer doing that with tents.

I work then on price. On that basis, where G.O. can verify it, they'll always be cheapest for card-holders.

Full T&C here.

There is that. Or price up/match from G.O. and collect from Warrington
