Didn't make it there this winter... feel almost like a traitor, in all honesty.
Determined to try new places... or re-visit others lower down my "favourites list", and so far, we haven't been disappointed.
I've pitched on better pitches, and been to sites with more character/quaintness, but for those bitter winter months, particularly when there's snow around, for that loo/shower block alone, I'd say Beechcroft is still No 1.
Tip for winter... The unisex room has larger shower cubicles... and I'm convinced it's 3 degrees warmer than the separate gents/ladies!!
Cold in the loo block?
Maybe they turn the heating down/off through the night?
Don't do 3am visits... we have a bucket! :-)
Still toasty warm in there at gone 10:30 pm, and at 06:30am, but haven't been in through the night.
...Unless they've turned it off altogether now... now the snow's gone!
To be honest, I showered in there late one night, with snow on the ground... and it was too warm by the time I'd got dressed again after showering!!
Stood by the open door for some air, whilst waiting for Muckerette. Went back to showering in the gents.
However, after a cold dash down the field, my guess is it would be most welcoming!!
This is my FAVOURITE site - been there this weekend too - very very windy yesterday when we packed away. The showers/toilet block are always warm to the point my glasses steam up everytime I walk in - so if you have glasses you have been warned!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
