Having recently converted from airbeds to campbeds,how do you stop a SIM slipping off the side of a campbed when you turn over in the night? I was thinking of maybe some sort of straps over the SIM and bed to stop any movement or a sheet somehow keeping it all in place? Does anyone else have this problem and if so what do you use?
I think most decent brands have non slip bases as this hasnt happened to us. Would Velcro pads hold it in place do you think. Hope you find a simple solution

My SIM doesn't slide off the side although it does move a little from top to bottom but not enough to be a problem. I normally spread a fleece blanket over the top of the SIM and the blanket hangs down either side of the camp bed. I have never tried it without the blanket so I don't know if this may be the reason why the SIM doesn't slide. Maybe the blanket moves rather than the SIM.
A small strip of stick on velcro on the SIM and camp bed might hold it in place.
Mine has never slipped sideways either. I'm not sure whether that's because there's a bit of give in the canvas which means that the SIM is held in a slight dip, or whether the fleecy cover which I made for the SIM stops it slipping.
I use a flannel fitted sheet over the SIM to keep it in place on the camp bed.

I also use a large square sleeping bag so I turn over inside the bag without it moving much, hence the SIM doesn't move either.

we use it in my hospital to stop our plastic covered camping mats that we use for patient comfort from slipping around on the xray couches.

If you're a whiz with a sewing machine, you could copy our tried and tested method... Basic double valanced fitted sheet from Wilko, cut in half. New elastic in the now cut corners means each corner will just hook over the corners of the SIM and bed frame. For added "security", Muckerette (You guessed it wasn't me, right?) added a strip of wide elastic diagonally across each corner underside, in much the same way that fishing sleeping bags have straps, to hook under the bed frame corners. That does the job, and with 2 beds pushed together, it also means you have the bonus of a R/H & L/H valance sheet, to hide whatever you have stored under the beds.
Our current Expeds don't really try to move, as they are a good fit on the camp bed, but the SIMs we had previously did, and these sheets kept them in place perfectly.
Works for us.
Some Sims are wider than the camp beds, mine fits just inside so I have not had a problem with it moving.
The only time it does move is if the camp bed is not level.
However I put a fleece blanket on top of the Sim as one of my sleeping bags (poly outer) tends to slide about without it.
