Got any tips?

We have one definite trip planned for when I am 28 weeks, but may have some more before then.

We're off to an airshow, that we've been to before, so think I'll be ok with the facilities etc. But not looking forward to midnight trip to toilet! Not planning on doing any cooking, other than cereal for breakfast and hot drinks. Will be eating in local pub, and bringing frozen sandwiches to defrost overnight for next day. Have also booked the posh seats for the show.

Obviously I will take my hospital notes, hospital bag (to beat Sod's law) and directions to nearest maternity unit.

Any tips?

Just the toilet, do you have an awning where you could keep a bucket? and maybe having somewhere to lie down and rest if required so maybe not too far away from the tent. Or maybe a portable foot rest for the posh seats.
And shelter from the sun, an ordinary umbrella would do, plus plenty of water to drink.

Going off experience as a dad, I'd say: easy, quick access to toilet day and night, very comfy bed, snacks, drinks, maybe a fan to keep you both cool and a fully charged mobile phone.

You could try the bog-in-a-bag though the seat might be a bit low when you get big. Link

I camped whilst pregnant and my top tips are to have a porta potti close by and use a camp bed rather rather trying to struggle of an airbed.
Making sure you get a good sleep (plus daytime naps) is vital!

I camped at 29 weeks pregnant with my second daughter for 10 days. Slept on a therm-a-rest mattress and had no toilet. Only problem we had was that at this particular large campsite in St Andrews, we struggled to get our ice packs frozen as the Open was the following week and they had no space in the freezer. Potential for very ill child and pregnant mum from eating food not kept cold enough made little difference!
Other than that, no problem.
Enjoy.

At 28 weeks you still have 12 to go in theory....

This is the best part - most of the maternity clothes still fit, people think you are pig. and not just fat!

You will probably only need to toddle to the toilet once if you can stop drinking at about 6pm and only drink /sip if you feel thirsty until about 6am.

Definately sleep on something squishy - just remember not to lie on your back as the midwife says. Be close to the toilets for regular visits. I would not try a bucket/ports potty as when you are bending your centre of gravity will be different to usual and normal toilets will be easier.

I can understand the toilet thing.
I'm 23 weeks and we've just bought a port-potti and a privy toilet tent as can't bear the thought of the midnight toilet trip with our 5 year old!
That and prep'ing meals and freezing them before we go all sounds like a plan to making things easier when we're away.
