Hi all
What's the consensus regarding bird poo on a polycotton tent, wipe it off ASAP with kitchen towel and water, or leave it to dry and try and chip it off.
I've always gone with the wipe it method, but this leaves a stain (the tent roof is light grey so shows up easily) and either the poo or the wiping seems to remove the factory applied waterproofing as when it rains you get a wet ring mark.
Is avoiding a stain impossible?
On a secondary issue, can I spot reproof or do I need to do the whole panel?

Wash off with plenty of water asap. If its gone hard leave wet sponge on there for long enough for it to soften & wash off easily. Its alkali so if you leave it on for long enough it will make a mark.

We used to wipe off asap with lots of water too.
If it was dry when we discovered it, we used a soft brush and then still rinsed it down.
