I had planned to buy it online through quidco to save some money but I think I got carried away playing with the children in the tent.
Just another quick one, my better half has found the house touch and it on longer works, (only a cheapy from Tesco). What would be best to take with us at the weekend? I do have a lantern that will hang from the middle of the tent, but I'm thinking trips to the loo in the night ect. Would I be best with just a couple of cheapies again or look at something with a little better quality?
Muckerette likes to carry a torch in one hand, her little bag for contact lenses/liquid and toothbrush etc in the other. Then she struggles to put it all down clean and dry, whilst changing from muddy wellies to crocs at the door!
Think "Head Torch", and leave your hands free to carry on unburdened! :-)
Wouldn't worry to much about lighting just yet as it doesn't get dark until 10pm and the sun is up before 6am. We bought a few cheapie led lights & head torches from poundland and they go forever with a decent set of batteries in.
But it closed and we where soon on site the. The tent was a dream to up it took about 45 mins, would have been quicker if I was a little fitter or had an electric pump. The biggest downside was the pump didn't have an adapter that fitted the valves properly so I had to have someone hold them together.
When the tent was up I then spent about 4 hours trying to get the ground sheet for the porch and the porch fitted!! I just couldn't get it to fit right
I did have a few issues with it, which I am sure its something I've don or not done. On the fist morning I noticed that water was dripping from inside the tent from the roof, the outside was wet with morning dew but under the porch sheet (the one that comes over the back of the tent) and the roof of the tent was dry? also when it rained on Saturday night water was finding its way in to the porch from under the sheet that covers the tent.
All in all it was a very fun weekend and my 6 month old was a star. Packing up was easy enough as the Nimbus comes in a massive bag so you don't need to fold it in the exact why it came out. I really can't wait for the next camping adventure but it looks like its going to be the end of August.

I think expert tag is way off yet! we only went for the weekend and didn't take much in the way of food or clothes, so heaven knows how it will fit in. we have decided on some bits we want, some bits we need and some that we would like.
I was hoping to get camp beds but they just took up a little too much room the the bedrooms so have gone with air beds. We will look at bbq vs stove as I'm not sure what would be best, I have a small one burner thing which is Ideal for the kettle, but cooking on it would be a no no.

Then you will buy more kit, because you now have room for it.

Lol that's what's happening to us! Now have a bigger tent and then hubby bought a camping cupboard.
We are going for three nights soon and him indoors wants to 'practice' packing the car as if we are going to France (trip coming soon). He is a worried man, so we are going to have to 1. Pack everything, and then 2. See if it fits and then 3. Take out the stuff we don't need for the weekend and stash it in our kitchen!
Trying not to have a trailer as we have towed before (sailing dinghy) and didn't like it. I told him it will just be minimal clothes each. He smiled.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
