The carpet for my Royal tent seems to crease up easily. I've just noticed that it's not one piece (ground sheet as it were and carpet part together) but two pieces just sewn in around the edges. Is this how it should be or have they pulled apart over time?

Most tent carpets (and picnic rugs) have a waterproof layer then a very thin foam layer then the top layer. I don't think the layers are stuck together if that is what you mean. The carpets can easily ruck up if they are scuffed by kids or dogs feet etc.

We bought nappy pins and elastic and anchored our tent down at various points.

We tried that with little success prior to the nappy pins and elastic 17
