hi another solo female camper question after doing 4 camps now, I am thinking of joining the cc&c because I have been told there are 24 hour wardens on site, which I feel may be better for me, but what do you think seasoned solo campers? or how do I find out on other sites if there is 24hr warden
I am a member of C&CC, and have only stayed at their club sites.
Of all the C&CC club sites that I have stayed, they all had wardens on site 24/7, and I believe that is standard for all their club sites.
For non C&CC club sites, the only way to find out is to ask, or to rely on recommendations.
I have stayed at sites where there is no staff on site at night, however, they usually have staff that live nearby who can come to the sites if required to address any issues, contactable via emergency contact numbers displayed at the reception area.

Should work great for you..most cc+c have 2 or even 3 wardens so always somebody on duty. The sites and facilities are always kept to a high standard and are usually in desirable places and campers in general are a friendly bunch You will soon become involved in something or other..unless you dont want to be of course.But..there are rules..lots of rules you must abide by...be in bed by 8 o,clock..no talking..no naked flames or candles etc..and certainly no going round the one-way system the wrong way!! Failiure to abide by these rules will result in you being pursued and reprimanded by the high-vis mounties. However--if you intend to behave yourself and be a model camper..It is well worth the money to become a member
oh bryanmitch that is so funny, actually after walking dogs 5 times a day maybe being in bed by 8.00 is'nt such a bad idea!!! as long as dogs are on leads,no drunks falling into my tent after midnight, that will do me, the last happened on last camp which kind of leant me towards c&cc sites
I too have been a member of the C+CC for a number of years and am a solo female camper. As DK168 says, always wardens on site and i find always friendly campers and have had no worries at all. Also as you have dogs there is no extra charge for them and i find this a real benefit when compared to independently owned sites. As a solo camper the membership fee is well worthwhile as the pitch fees are very good in comparison with independently ownes sites.
I don't think wardens are going to be able to stop drunks falling into your tent or tripping over the guys. One tent I had seemed to attract drunks tripping over the guys. I think because it had a couple of lengthy ones at the front. Eventually I had to mark the guys with yellow tent pegs and also fitted light sticks to them. Believe it or not it was usually drunken women who tripped over them and then walked off tittering and giggling leaving me to have to get up to make sure they hadn't ripped the pegs out!!

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
On the cc+c sites I have visited..the wardens all seem to live on seasonal pitches near the entrance and normally have a fence around their patch..so easy to find.It seems that the sites all have barrier systems on also to stop anybody who shoudlnt be there from getting in.About as safe as you will find really....As for drunks falling over your tent/guylines...surely not on a cc+c site...you wouldnt be allowed to enjoy yourself that nuch
No,certificated sites are just bits of the farm that are too muddy and hilly for the cows.
They vary enormously from basic to really basic!
They are great value in all seriousness, and the site owner tends to live nearby, but will be far to busy watching the barley grow and filling out E U subsidy claims to be intrusive

Thankyou for all your help I am going to join the club, do the same rules apply for the certificated sites they advertise? warden on site etc
No, hence my last post referenced CLUB SITES specifically.
CLs are usually small outfits, therefore, they may not have warden on site 24/7.
HOWEVER, some sites have their owners living close by.
Hence I mentioned the need to check with individual sites in my last post if they are not C&CC club sites.

I am on. Club site right now, there are 6 wardens and every day there is a sign outside the unit of the on duty wardens i know not everyone likes club sites but we love them even if they do cost a bit more.
We did spend our first night on a certified site, nice site but apart from coming and collecting the money we did not see the owners
I think I have only ever been to two campsites where there wasn't a warden/manager/owner living on site or very near by. Most campsites have a contactable manager or owner nearby.
