Any time we like apart from school holidays. Families with children can have those weeks. That way I only have the foreign tourists to wind me up when we are away. Plus I have no plans to be unwell for 3 months this year God willing, unlike last year. So we have some catching up to do. We don't book too far in advance as that sort of ruins the whole spontaneity of camping when you want.

Just booked, two trips for the six week holidays, Cornwall and Norfolk, booked a long weekend for Easter, and fancy throwing in a cheeky Fforest field trip, having spoken to my Brothers neighbour, he takes his lad for the weekend, he only lives 5 miles away, but says it is fantastic and that I should try it
Working in school means we are tied to the holidays, so I do tend to book the main holidays well in advance.
Oh yes and just booked a cheeky 10 nights in Florida!!
I've got my eye on 3 campsites that I want to stay at in Essex, Surrey and East Sussex. I plan to go on my first trip of the year next month, for at least 5 nights. Just gotta choose which site!
Hugely impressed by Gwithian Farm last year, so we booked again before we left. They had originally struggled to fit us in due to being booked out by the time we made our minds up.
Therefore 15 nights in Cornwall. Home to Inversneckie to clean, repair and wash up, then off to Horgabost on the Isle of Harris for 5 nights. That should do the trick!
I will advise which is the windier location.
We're booked up for 2 weeks in France, on two different sites - one week at each.
We're new to camping having only bought our tent late August, so we're going to one small privately run campsite, and then one larger one a few hours away (RCN).
Fingers crossed it will all be OK :)
We had planned to maybe have some spontaneous weekends, but circumstances mean that we may be travelling up to Dentdale from Suffolk several weekends/Easter, etc. this year, so may not happen :(
Don't normally book more than a couple of days in advance for UK weekends, and not at all for our 2 weeks in France (although that's in September, to be fair.)
We do normally steer clear of the "popular, family friendly, holiday park type sites" though, particularly at "busy holiday periods".
So here I now sit, about to announce that I have, as of about 4 hours ago, booked ourselves in for 3 nights at Easter weekend... on a "popular, family friendly, holiday park type site"!!
Treated our youngest to "an experience" for his 30th back in August, and he's just got around to sorting it... Fly Boarding on the Jet Ski Lake at Tattershall Lakes in Lincs on Easter Saturday afternoon... so we're all (various family members) piling up there to make a weekend of it.
Think we'll "just take the Frinton", and there will be others tagging on to my group booking reference number. Some in tent's, a couple in a caravan, and I think certain members may make use of the available pre-erected Bell tents, statics, and/or lodges. Something for everyone, it seems! :-)
Here's to it all going to plan... and the weather not being too nice!
Can anyone advise... should I carry my crate of Stella under my left arm, or right?
6 weeks in Holland for us from Spring Bank to the beginning of July. We booked whilst there in September. Ferry crossing (Harwich to the Hook)booked at a very good price through CC.
16 nights in Le Helles in Sainte Marine, just across the river from Benodet in August. Spring/early summer will be trips in Ireland depending on work rosters and hopefully a trip to Ypres.
We also want to fit in a bit of backpacking but haven't decided where.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
