Hi,
Looking for advice on best T.V. Aerial for tent camping.
Our T.V. will be a bog standard 19" with HD ready, also will I need a digi box
Thank you,
Dave
A small cheap aerial well off the ground will work better than an expensive aerial at ground level, use some of your budget to gain height to get above local trees and hills. Don't go so high you upset the neighbours.
Powered amplifiers are good but you will require an extra power supply ie TV, Freeview box and aerial amplifier.
In the end you will have to compromise between aerial size, aerial height and available power sockets.
An alternative is to use a laptop with a USB TV dongle as your TV set and Freeview box. August even do a USB powered amplifier aerial for it that will sit on top of your laptop.
Easy Millerblade, we have a Lidl Bicycle work stand that has four legs, very stable, but each leg is pegged down.
The Bicycle stand has QR Levers, that allow the tube upright to swivel 360 Deg in rotation, also the tube can go from 1m upto 2m.
So the Dish simply clamps to the tube upright, I then set the Dish Elevation using a Digital Angle finder, to whatever the Elevation is for the location, say 36 Deg at Frejus.
Then I just slowly pan the Dish from East to West, until Sky New pops up on the 3" screen on my SatLink 6906 meter, then lock up the QR Lever, and job done, takes about 5 mins in total.
