I know obelink don't sell some of their tents to the uk but I have also seen that some people have managed this obstacle. How have you managed to do this and did you have any problems?
Many thanks.
Not a tent, but back in 2013 I ordered a Mobicool C40 (not B40) camping fridge from Obelink.nl as it was not shown on the Obelink UK website.
Delivery charge was just 5.95€ and the unit arrived within 4 days of ordering, total cost including delivery was £139 which at the time was around £60 cheaper than UK prices.
Delivery was via DPD and fully tracked all the way.
There's another thread about equipment from Obelink, including delivery aspects.
In the ""Camping and Caravanning Equipment" section - search for a thread with the word "Holland" in the thread title.
We found ordering from Obelink very straightforward, they sent the tent by courier - it was delivered within 4 days from us ordering, we thought delivery charge was very reasonable and we've been very pleased with the tent.
Oh and tent does say not supplied to uk, I guess that is my specific question. I know some people have had tents delivered that state not to uk, how was that done?
Hi,
Is it the Hypercamp Tripstein Plus that you are wanting ?
It is saying not available online or in store .
As to whether they ship to uk when it states
WE DO NOT SHIP THIS TENT TO THE UK AND IRELAND i would presume they don't. Not sure if an e.mail or call direct to Obelink in Holland would sort that out for you, the dutch speak very good english so i would try to contact them.
Sorry, I see now the specific question, about a tent they are saying is not for supply to the uk.
We certainly didn't contact them (other than by ordering online), and I'm sure we didn't see anything in the description of the tent we wanted that said it wasn't for supply to the uk. Maybe we just struck lucky in our choice of tent ?
Sorry, I'm afraid I can't remember now which of the various obelink websites we used.
I think I would definitely contact them to query their policy, and to see if they can suggest how you can get the tent you want.
I do believe that shipping cost to other E.U. member states are heavily subsidised, which does upset UK suppliers as it cost them more to supply to a UK address than one in the E.U.
So going forward there will be no subsidy for E.U. member states to ship to UK in a couple of years thanks to Brexit, so it will be back to rip of Britain but even more so then!
Hey,
Yes it's the tripstein plus hypercamp one. I know they have non compete supply agreement type thing going on with bell tent uk and that's why the bells and Touareg style aren't shipped to uk and only seen on their .nl site. But I also know some people in the past have got round that. However I can't for the life of me find the original discussions and therefore how the loophole was formed.
I'll try giving them a call but I think I might just have to swallow the additional cost of buying from over here. It's galling But I guess that's business.
Yes it is the exact same tent but it's nearly £100 cheaper from Obelink, even inc shipping is a worthwhile saving. (Same as their bells) I've contacted them and def a no go. Just trying to figure out if I know anyone in Europe that would forward it on for me.
Just a thought MM...they dont ship this tent to uk--but could you have a courier firm collect from them on your behalf? My tent came from them with DPD parcel carriers.Worth asking the question.
