Hi All,

Just got back from our first weekend with our bear lake 6, great tent!

My problem now is where to store it as its not likely to get used now until next spring :(

I guess the best place I could store it is in the house, but the only option would be under the bed, although im not sure if it will fit.

Loft is not an option due to the weight.

The only other options are the shed and one of them keter plastic storage sheds but I guess neither are ideal?

Can they be made 'ideal' i.e. if you wrap the tent up inside something?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Under the bed. Damp sheds and the possibility of mice making their nest in in during the winter isn't one you want to chance.

You could always turn it into a feature, i'm thinking coffee table!

I would definitely avoid a shed, garage or other outside storage area. Best place is somewhere indoors where the temp won't drop. A dry tent will still absorb moisture in a damp/cold environment.

could you store it in separate parts under the bed rather then all together in the bag?

We have reorganised our bear lake 6 into 3 bags as found it easier to store and transport that way.

We store it in the cupboard under the stairs.

We had the norfolk lake and stored it in the loft, split it into 3 bags - Canvas, Bedrooms and Poles.

Definitely wouldn't entertain the shed or garage

Our tent used to live in the corner of the bedroom. Nowadays we keep most of the tents in the cupboard under the stairs (constantly hoping no damp gets in there - I think we've been OK so far but a couple of tents at the bottom haven't seen the light of day for a couple of years!).

We also split the poles out. it just makes things easier to handle (and we can shove the poles in the shed or the loft without too much hassle).
