Hi everyone. 1st post. Just wanted advice on which double sleeping bag to get. We camp in France every year so it really doesn't need to keep us warm much of the time. In fact, sometimes we sleep on our current one and just use a sheet as it's so hot. Also, our current one has the sort of material that catches on absolutely everything, like hangnails... drives us mad - have to use a liner. If it could separate into two singles it would be cool so we could wash it ourselves. Thanks in advance.
My advice is not to have sleeping bags. In the tent we had 2 old duvets, one under and one over. We had a single sheet each, to layer or not, and out of season had a blanket for over the top as well.
The duvets have normal polycotton covers and are washed/cleaned as normal.
If two singles would be easier to wash, why not just get two singles that you can zip together? My outwell bags have left and right hand zips so you can make a double bag. Personally as a hot sleeper, I prefer the duvet option.
I've just bought a vango ambience sleeping bag it's a three season but it has 2 layers so if it's too warm you can unzip the thicker layer off , used it in aviemore in may and it was great ! Very warm and comfortable !
In my experience, double sleeping bags are rubbish. They have no good, your partner moves and your warm air goes out and her cold feet rob you of any warmth. They don't provide any more intimacy either. If you want snuggles invest in a duvet. If you want to be warm, get two decent singles.
