Will be camping on a 10 amp site and am sorting out what appliance pulls what ampage,does anyone know what ampage a smartphone or a ipad draws when charging as the children will bring at least one with them.

I don't but it's pretty damn small. *Goes and googles* About 5 watts for an iphone charger, just over 10 for an ipad.

It will tell you on the mains phone charger what the amp rating is.

Take a look at this page. There is a watts to amps conversion chart on it. 10 amps will be ok up to 2300 watts. Divide Watts by volts (230 volts in UK) to give you amps. If your ipad is 10 watts then that will be just 0.043 of an amp - lol.

Forget the charger TV etc and the lights as they use very little.

Think only kettle, heater, hair dryer and use only one at a time.

10Amp is 2500 watts.
Most kettles are 2200 watts, hairdryers 1500watts, heaters 1000 or 2000 depending on setting.

I think the wiring diagram would need a bit more explanation for me. The photos make it look as if you just wire the EHU lead into one end of the amp meter and out the other end but the wiring diagram doesn't seem to be quite like that...can't see an earth for a start
