Duffs, I typed a reply yesterday but I think the UKCS server was having a meltdown and it didn't post. Just to say empathy, and can understand your sadness only too keenly. It does hurt. Maybe he'll have a rethink in a year and it's the post-op effects that are affecting him psychologically now the physical side is under control. It must be quite a thing to have something alien help to keep your heart keep beating and no doubt brings up all sorts of unconscious existential angst about annihilation, survival, agency, autonomy and potency. Maybe he feels guilt about not being as able to do as much as before and this manifests in projecting the 'too much effort' (for you...) and not just his own concerns. Male ego issues in short.
We did have a good time, despite the little bit of mizzle, and he even helped strike the tent ... well, a bit... so that was a nod to rapprochement. He also said it would have been good to have stayed another night (which we couldn't due to my work, how ironic). It wasn't the same as a long stay in France in Esther (I know, I know, is there no pleasing this woman .) 'She' now needs an outing as she's been stuck under the bed for 2 years.
Enjoy the camping weather whilst it lasts wherever it finds or takes you.

I'm sure I could do another 5 years at least in our tent, he's looking at caravans.................me towing, he doesn't drive if I'm in the car. we will see. We've still got all our gear too, which is still in the truck, I'm loathed to get it out in case he thinks he can do another camp.

Me too. Oh, Lidds we need your campsite... preferably in France as this UK super summer ain't gonna last.
Season ticket please, with one for Duffs.
I'll bring the red.
And Esther.

Yep please advise when we are leaving, the weather has been rubbish all weekend so far, my son's on his way to France as we speak, not camping but a van in the grounds of a chateau, with lake etc so not jealous xxx
Haha! My O/H does like camping, just wants easiest possible, most stress-free set-up! We will be setting off again in a couple of weeks but not to France this time (new pup - no time to sort pet passport). Will just have to brave the UK weather - whatever it's doing - and look forward to going to France again next year!
