We’re returning to tent camping having have tents, trailer tents and a caravan. Something I’ve done some research on and am open to tips / inspiration on is the camp kitchen. When we were in tents and trailer tents I used to get tired of shuffling our stacked plastic boxes which had all the kitchen gear in (but not food). I’d love to have plastic drawers to try and replicate the ease of caravan kitchen. I’d love to be able to lift something out of the trailer / boot and it be good to go. I don’t know if deeper drawers would be better or if just some A4 table top for cutlery etc. Any tips? Other suggestions?

I used to have a 4 drawer plastic unit, whereby two drawers were deeper than the top two. It was ideal as the frying pan and saucepans went in the bottom, plates bowls and cups in the next a drawer for cutlery and the top for odds and ends. The only disadvantage was the top was slightly bent out of shape so getting things in and out of the top drawer was a bit of a pain. It was brilliant as everything was there and it was just lifted out of the loft into the trailer/car. I got the drawers from our local carboot.
If you google ‘plastic storage drawers ‘ you get all sorts of options. Rainbow coloured from Ryman’s, cheaper from Wilko, Matalan, Argos. You could get a set of deeper ones with a shallow cutlery one on top.
We have a four drawer plastic set and do exactly what you say, lift it straight out of the trailer into the tent. We leave everything in it when it's stored in the loft. Top drawer is plates, cops and glasses, second drawer collapsible bowls, sieve, etc and the bottom two have all our vmcamping essentials, matches, playing cards, clingons, foil, bbq tolls, candles, etc. Works very well for us.

I keep all this in a Really Useful Box. Yes I do have to unload/load it when setting up and packing down. Unloading probably takes 2-3 minutes, packing away more like 5 minutes. Can't say that really bothers me much.
The 4 drawer units you can buy are good but big and bulky, and hopefully you have enough to fill them. If you can accommodate that then definitely worth a go. I have a bad back so struggle with the bottom drawers on those things so would still end up having to put it on something.But for camping - I just dont have enough stuff to fill one lol
We use a fabric cutlery roll and Really Useful Boxes and their drawer unit for kitchen and bathroom bits. Stands in the van between the front seat and next to the dog crate. We find it works for us.
