With this heat will my camping gaz cylinder blow up ? Just a bit worried as first time using one and with it being so hot at mo. Not camping for another two weeks so weather may cool down.

and where do you think the retailers store these? certainly not in a freezer, and normally outside all day long no matter what the weather and often as not in full facing sun. calor even have full yards of the things!

I once read somewhere that a 907 will withstand heat up to 87 degrees celsius. I used one in my tent a couple of weeks ago in 40 degree heat, and it was fine. Even in this weather I don't think any tent will get much hotter than that.

Whilst it will withstand high ambient temperatures it should be shaded from direct sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight will result in the bottle reaching greater than ambient temperature.

Used them in the Sahara so don't think the UK will be a problem. Can remember finding the cylinder was too hot to touch but it worked without any problems. However keeping them out of direct sun is still,a good idea.

Gas bottles need to burn in a fire to 400degC before they blow & then they have a built in weak point that prevents them exploding into shrapnel. So your bottle is quite safe in any weather.

Gas lighters should not be left in direct sunlight though. They can explode. Not much force but obviously a fire risk.
