I can’t imagine that is true. There have been numerous problems with leaking and exploding tents but only on a minority of tents in the past few years and they have never recalled before.
My local camping store has told me the same. Total recall of all 2019 Outwell air tents. previous years models are not affected. The store manager was not happy about this and was taking all his outwell display down today.
If you try to buy from the official Outwell website, as soon as you try to add any 2019 air tent to your basket it tells you they have sold out.

Wow, that sounds pretty serious. I wonder what the problem is.
the retailer I spoke to said all of the 2019 air tents have to go back to Outwell immediately and there is no news on whether they will have any stock now this year.
sounds serious
Thank you for your comments and we would like to take the opportunity to confirm that we have recently identified an issue with air tubes that affects a number of 2019 Outwell inflatable tents and motorhome awnings.
For more than 25 years we have worked hard to achieve and maintain high levels of product quality, service and trust so we are truly embarrassed to report this failure. Thankfully, these incidents are rare. But errors do occur, and we would like to assure you that we take these issues very seriously.
We would like to stress that this only affects 2019 models and apologise profusely to anyone who has already purchased one of these tents or motorhome awnings. We are currently implementing an action plan with our retail network and you will soon be contacted by either your supplying retailer or our team in order to rectify the problem.
We expect to start delivering back to the market in early May.
Please contact Outwell direct if you have any questions info at outwell.com
Its not the first time Outwell has had a serious issue with leaking tents. It was a big problem a few years ago.
I myself had 3 Monty's all leaked and eventually got a refund. It was a big deal at the time with a lot of angry customers.
Trying to remember the year /years and I think it was around 2008-2010?

Gary from Cross Camping has posted elsewhere that this is a stitching problem in the sleeve, I think, and affects only a tiny proportion of tents but that Outwell have taken the decision to recall all rather than wait got the few to surface when people’s trips get ruined.
It’s an honest move on their part. Not all businesses would take that approach.
thats a bold move when you think about it. fair play to them for fessing up and proactively trying to sort the situation.
i suspect some companies would have kept quiet and sorted each case out as it arose whilst minimising damage to the brand..
or done what the caravan industry does with inherently faulty products and put their blinkers on and keep flogging the same old crap with the same old faults.
It is a brave move by Outwell but definately the right thing to do.
They have obviously learned their lesson from the last time when they lost confidence from customers.

I have my eye on an Outwell for my next small poly tent because they have rain protection over the door, unlike similiar small tents from Vango which have the sloping front door.
