I am happy to report I have sold my beloved Brenderup trailer and ESVO Bedouin 340 tent.
Still no news when my van will be ready, and I fully expect it will be later than the original estimate of EOM September 2020 due to Covid-19.

Congrats on selling the kit! At least you're not missing out on a glorious camping season waiting for your van - well, anymore than anyone else, with things as they are! It's a crazy year.
I reckon my tenting years could be counted on the (increasingly creaky) fingers of one hand now, all being well, so I'm cross about missing this spring and summer. There are certainly no funds for a van, so I'll have to treat myself to occasional glamping pods/shepherds huts etc - which I've already done and enjoyed, for a change.
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
Good news on selling the tent but it's a shame you are having to wait for the van. Mind you not that any of us are going anywhere at the moment.
I have decided I am putting my Karsten up for a week in the garden in August and am moving out. All cooking and everything in the tent even if my family won't join me

Good on you and why not?!
In a way, I am glad my van is not ready, otherwise she would be sitting on the drive not going anywhere during lockdown!

Aw, I've missed being on here and seeing posts from people I've come to know, albeit at a distance.
DK - good luck with your custom-van and may you have fun and good times where ever you and your four-legged companion roam. And whenever you are able (and perhaps later and earlier in the season than with the canvas) with or without CVD-19.
Purps - a week in the garden sounds a grand plan... the Karsten will love it. I've managed 4 'mini-breaks' so far this year but hanker for a proper holiday... I think Esther needs an outing so will also plan for a long break in August. If OH wants feeding he'll have to join me outside
Oh... I bought another tent, just because and because the Osaki 3 (lovely and value that it has been) is disintegrating along the pole sleeves. Gone for a Kamp Brean 3 as I like the little canopy. OH as usual, doesn't know...

Hi bridgeywidge, glad to see you are still buying tents and not telling your OH!
No news about when my van will be ready, however, I have started to buy bits and pieces for it, and am sorting out the areas outside my house in readiness for its arrival.
Fingers firmly crossed that she (definitely a she) will be here soon!
Enjoy your trips, whatever tent you may be using!

Oooh, buying things in anticipation sounds a good plan.
I finally put the new arrival up this morning as OH had gone to Cardiff so I had the house to myself. Bliss. I've now tucked it up in the attic for a surprise appearance next year. Oh look, the Outwell Monterey's had a baby! (They're very similar shapes).
Here's to adventures and the outdoors, great and small.

We have now just hit 60, well Mrs Francais is a year behind me, so we are looking at moving over to a caravan, just something small say 1,200kg so looking at Caravelair, Sterckeman and Burstner.
Not new maybe 2 to 5 years old, the plan is to buy in Holland, as the van will only be used in France so storage will be there.
I think we have a couple of years tent camping left, which will give us time to get the right van for us, also will need a tow car, but thats another story.

Very pleased to find good homes for the majority of my camping kits, quite a few sold or given away through FB's for sale/buying pages with no fees!
Onwards and upwards.
Just need to find a suitable base van in order to start the conversion. I have revised and lowered my specification of the base van, and would entertain a white van if it means I could have one sooner than end of this year!
My brain is running wild with decals/graphics ideas, as I am starting with a blank white canvas so to speak!
Thinking about having all the rainbow colours as it will be very fitting and contemporaneous! How about one wing mirror in red and the other in lime green?

That sounds grand... I look forward to seeing the results of your cogitations and plans. Although sunglasses might be needed for viewing - if not with the current weather!

Some of my Hawaiian shirts that I wear in the warmer months are even more colourful!
Shy and retiring I am not for certain!
