Will be pitching on site with woodchip pitches in the summer. Do I need to do anything differently? Will I need a footprint for my tent? Only ever pitched on grass before. Tent is a vango Tigris 600 if that’s important. Thanks!
I would advise getting a cheapo tarpaulin as an additional groundsheet to protect the SIG, as wood chips could be quite hard and sharp.
Just need to make sure the additional groundsheet is slightly smaller than the SIG in all directions, otherwise rain water can gather in between the tarp and the SIG.

Great thank you - I thought that might be the best plan but it’s good to have an expert confirm!
Not sure if I would consider myself an expert, however, thanks!
Tarpauline Direct is where I got my cheapo tarp, and you can get a custom sized one to suit your tunnel tent relatively cheaply.

I have never camped on woodchip but how deep is the woodchip? I am wondering whether normal tent pegs will be long enough to reach terra firma if it is several inches thick??
