Has anyone looked at an OS map and contacted farms in the area you want - that will allow off-ground fires and dogs (on leads)?

I'm about to look around Llangollen (near) for farms following disappointing replies from campsites in that area.

Any advice for this? TY

Have you looked at The Greener Camping Club? Small ‘wild style’ sites, all seem to allow fires, lots in Wales.

Also Nearly Wild Camping Club. Locations willing to host small numbers of campers in wild / secluded areas. 95% allow fires, 40% welcome dogs.

I have fond memories of camping around there when I was younger. We used to contact the local churches and get them to introduce us to parishioners with land and more often than not we’d come up trumps. I appreciate this is not a conventional route but it is perhaps worth a try.

I do this with my camper van look for farms near where I want to be or on route then just give them a ring or email if you can find one. The farms that do b&b are normally the most accommodating
