I have just bought a 'new' to me me (but about 20 years old, Force ten Mark 5 that has been adapted so it has a porch extention. I have a standard Mk 5 before. However, having used it for the for the first time the last 2 weeks - it leaks - my old one never did. I waterproofed it before I went with Fabsil.    So.... should I:
1) Add more layers (did 1 side with 1 layer of Fabsil gold and the other with 2 coats normal fabsil- Gold SO much better BTW)
2) Add a coat of wax
3) somehow try to remove the silicone which I suspect may not have been a good move and allow the fibres to swell. If so - how should I do this?

The lady I bought if from said she never waterproofed it as her dad sold these tents and advised against it.

Advice very welcome.
Thank you

if you have already used fabsil on it then that is the where you will need to go again to try and waterproof the tent. i am not sure you would ever get fabsil out of the canvas just by cleaning it

i would always say just use water and when you think you have soaked the tent enough add more water but sadly you are past that now and will have to continue with the silicone based proofers which will sadly proof the tent but they can block any natural breathability the fabric would have had if left un proofed

Fabsil gold on the tent and seam sealer on all the seams
