Hi guys
As you know i've recently bought an Adventure 2 roof tent from Direct 4x4 ( Wild lands Desert Cruiser ) and when it arrived it came with 4 x roof bar securing clamps which i pressume for fitting the rtt to two roof bars, i'm using 3 x roof bars and at the moment the rtt is sat on all 3 bars but only secured on the front and rear bar but idearly want to secure it to the middle bar as well, i've been on the suppliers website and they don't sell the securing clamps seperate only with a rtt and just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction please as i've looked on ebay and alike but to no evail

depends on the fittings of the rtt. is it embossed nuts, holes or moulded brackets.

do the manufacturers' offer a third point, because if not, there must be a reason.

They are basicly an ally plate that wraps round the bar, there is more fixing points but i need to buy them as extra's are not in the kit just enough to fix it on.

A local metal engineering company will no doubt be able to make copies of the originals.

I'm very sorry i had forgoten all about this post

I found some for a different rooftent that fitted so i fitted security nuts to everything, roof tent and roof bars and backed them up with nylocks i also removed all the roof tent fixing bolts and fitted longer ones so just enough room to get the nuts off and on with my fingers so can't get a socket in or thick spanner, it won't stop them from stealing it but it should deter them hopfully

Don't want to be a profit of doom or worry you, but your theft concern is much the same as anyone using a roof box, I believe thieves don't waste time overcoming locks or fasteners, they just cut through the roof bars in seconds (quicker ways than a hacksaw, but not giving anyone ideas!) and are away! Not a lot you can do to prevent beyond not making it too easy, but unique marking (Car Reg etc.) obvious AND hidden makes it more of a risk and improves chance of IDing it as yours if caught in possession.
