hi all, bit of advice needed putting up my Coleman Coastline 3 as the instructions are so horrible. Once I have inserted the three poles and raised the rear of the tent and pegged the rear down should I plant the rear guy lines before I pull forward the middle and front sections of the tent or would you do all the guy lines at the end?

Also, should I peg the front of the tent when I have pegged the back or wait until I have pulled the tent forward?

Many thanks,
Andy.

Gary Cross from Cross Camping and Leisure has a series of videos about erecting various tents. You can search for them on here.

This is for a tunnel tent, may be helpful. You will need to copy and paste unless some helpful person can do a linky.

Hiya, we had the same problem. You have to peg all four corners before lifting the poles.

Good luck.

Thanks all for your replies. The Gary Cross videos are really helpful. The official Coleman one is OK but not great for noobies.

Same Youtube video as above.

Slide the poles into the pole sleeves in the flysheet, they should be colour coded. Slot the pole ends into the rings provided, shaping and tensioning them.
Peg down the sides of the flysheet while spacing the poles to their correct positions. There may be tapes that define the width of the tent.
The front of the inner tent has the zip door, lay out the inner tent groundsheet inside the flysheet with the front towards the open area of the tent. Clip and hang the rear end of the inner tent to the rear end of the flysheet, then clip and hang the front end of the inner tent to the middle of the flysheet.
Position and peg down any guy lines.
When you take this tent down don't bother unclipping the inner tent, pack it inside the flysheet.

Enjoy the liveliness of the syntax.
