Hi, I have an Isuzu Dmax double cab pick up with a canopy on the load deck which has a lift up rear window supported on gas struts. What I'd like to do is buy a "Caranex" tent or similar to be able to use it occasionally. Has anyone had experience with this type of tent or similar and when booking a pitch do you book it as a tent or camper, as the length of the whole set up may be too long for the tent pitches.
Any help and info. much appreciated.
Check drive away awnings too. They may be a bit more versatile in terms of windows & doors, and I’m not sure if the caranex closes if you want to head off for the day, like a campervan or MH awning does.
The current CCC magazine answers someone asking about how to book a roof tent. “As there will be a wheeled vehicle going on to the pitch for the whole of your stay, we ask you to book as a campervan” (etc), including putting the details into the booking form so the site managers know where to put you. Probably easier to phone & chat it through.
Did you try the Search Facilty?, there are various other threads, albeit quite old.
But you might get some useful info from them.
