After a happy week in Beauly near Inverness last week we were so pleased that the Outwell Parkdale 4A's beams were dry for packing away. I went to reception to return our travel kettle (after tripping the 'switch' with our own kettle). When I returned to the pitch the air beam was already on the ground, we started rolling and packing it in the car. When home and re-packing the kitchen box for next time ... no light, no carbon monoxide detector ... no fairy lights ... all usually hanging from the beam inside the lounge area. Whoops! We had to know if they were left at the campsite (probably not) or inside the tent near the precious beam. After unrolling and unceremoniously crawling inside, there were the offending articles. Note to selves ... make sure nothing hanging from beams when deflating. Beams seemed to be intact but we won't know until a couple of weeks time when we're in Devon. Wish us luck!!
We did this many years ago in a poled tent but it was a piece of sticky fly paper we forgot about! It remained stuck tightly to the roof of the tent for years!
Hopefully this won’t have done any permanent damage for you.
I intentionally leave a till receipt in the depths of my inner tent. It was by accident at first but when I realised it was in French from somewhere near Bordeaux I started to leave it in there after each camp as a souvenir. I'm hoping that should someone borrow the tent they'll notice it and wonder about all the places my tent has been.
The only problem is that I like my tent and am most unlikely to lend it to anyone.
