Hi all, just to give a little context myself and the wife purchased a hi hear kalahari 8 eclipse around 2013/14, for one reason or another we never used it, untillnthis weekend, complete gamble without checking we just went and camped for 2 days, it still smelled brand new 🤣 now obviously the weather was great besides some 30mph wind but it stood perfectly fine, my question is do I need to reproof it? I've read stories that even if unused after so many years you have to water p4oof your tent etc, is this factual or scare mongering? Sadly I cannot give it hosepipe shower due to garden being to small for it.
I never even thought this might be a problem
Thanks for any help

Until it rains you will never know.

However I would have some seam sealer handy. We were away last weekend in our Vango Omega which we have had since about 2011 and hasn't been used for a few years. All was good until it rained and the seam around the zip into the front lobby leaked like a sieve.

Thankfully it was only a short sharp shower and we were at camp so could mop up and dry off the tent when the rain stopped. Had we been out it would have been very wet in there. Seam sealer on order!
