Could you fit a stove jack and get a wood burning tent stove if your tent is suitable? Certainly silent and lovely on an autumn/winter/spring night and you can cook on it as well
There has been at least one thread about wood burning stoves in tents: the need for a CO alarm, non-combustible surface underneath, the non-flammable opening in the tent roof etc.
Not sure I'd want anything involving combustion inside a tent. I'm a bit surprised more people don't seem to use convector heaters when EHU is available. They are cheap, silent, and quick to heat up. Combustion heaters can be dangerous for several different reasons, fan heaters can be noisy, and oil-filled radiators are slow to heat up. They do still give off some heat after they are switched off though.
They work, but they're a lot of moving parts for a tent — fuel, a battery, and a pipe that must go outside, full stop. On a quiet site the hum carries further than you'd think, and diesel smell lingers. For most of us, a decent layer system and a warm bag keep the night cosy without the plumbing. Save the heater for the van.
