Hi, can’t decide between the KARSTEN Opera or Amara, we’re car touring and tend to move on every 3 or 4 days following fair weather were we can through France, but also like some luxury and space. Only two of us and a lab, and would appreciate any advice if the smaller Opera would suite our needs we also have a Tatonka 2 awning which we intend to use.

Can't comment on their tunnel tents.
Just the two of us... no kids/no dogs.

We went from a large (6 berth) polycotton tunnel to the Karsten pod (350) plus awnings.
We stopped overnighting en route in hotels, and used the Pod only for overnighters/short stays.
It worked a treat, and we had 9 wonderful years using that approach... and never regretted one single aspect of doing so!

Pod only is by far the quickest (and physically easiest) set up option, whilst still giving you enough room for short stays.
For longer stays, we'd add our awnings, which in fairness, I suspect is a longer set up time compared to the tunnel tents.

Whilst our previous tunnel tent was too big and too slow (for us) to set up for short stays/overnighting, I'm not inferring the same would be true for the Karsten tunnels (as I've no experience of them).

Just something for you to think about.

I note your location... and assume you are aware of Camping Travel Store, who are as near as damn it "on your doorstep". (Melbourn, Herts. SG8 6EY).
They are the sole/exclusive UK dealer for Karsten, as well as being extremely approachable/knowledgeable/helpful when it comes to helping/advising you on what might work best for you.
If you haven't already done so, a visit to them is imperative! (We paid 3 visits, and numerous 'phone calls when we were looking at our options. They never once tried "to sell", they just helped us to buy the right set up for us... and after 9 years, I'd say they got it bang on!

*Don't rush into it.
*Don't discount the inflatable pods (with or without awnings).
*Do visit CTS.

Good luck. ??

Thanks, we have visited CTS and spoken to James over the years and seen their 350 set up. Just need to make a decision.
