I think, like foggers, that both tents look fine but I would tend towards the Wynnster as it has bigger floor area and greater headroom in the living space. MT

Vango Venture 500......superb tent. We have one as our weekend tent and my OH is 6ft 5". We have 2 children, 1 who is 13 and 1 who is 3. We have plenty of room for a weekend but wouldn't like to stay in it for longer than 3 days.
Easy to pitch, lots of room, especially if you lock up the front door and use the large side door.
We've just bought a vango venture 500 as a "weekend tent" but we're also planning to take it away for a week for just the two of us. We've got a sunncamp magnum 9 which is great when there are five of us but I reckon the Vango will be perfect for two of us for a week. We also have a sunncamp dayroom which we're taking so that we've got kitchen space and some shady/rain shelter space. I've come to the conclusion I'd rather have a smaller tent and then add the dayroom (or just the utility tent perhaps?) to it rather than to try to achieve everything in one tent (if that makes sense...)
It's effectively a grown up gazebo that doesn't take off when the wind blows!!!
We used ours for the first time last week - put it up in a fairly strong wind and it remained stuck to the ground whilst gazebos were taking off and buckling poles around us!
It gives a nice amount for a kitchen as well as space to sit out in, either as shade with the sides up or as a rain shelter and didn't take long to put up and take down.
We didn't buy ours from world of camping, I think I found someone a bit cheaper and that had the day room in three different colours.
We've just bought the Vango Aspen 700 7 berth (you can get a 500 which is a 5 berth). It's a fantastic tent which is mostly frame so is very robust. the great thing about it for me....besides the lovely colour.....is how light and airy it feels inside. There are 2 side doors & 1 front door with porch. There are also 2 windows in the front as well as 1 in each small bedroom and 2 in the large one and 2 windows in the roof.
We tried out our new Aspen at the weekend and I had all the fly nets open in 2 side doors, the windows in the bedrooms and the lounge area and the fly sheets on the 3 bedrooms and it was like sitting in the middle of the field, we had a panoramic view all around us, it was superb.
You definitly need to go and see one of these tents in the flesh so-to-speak as you can't appreciate how well constructed they are and the space you have inside.
I will be taking photos when we go away 22nd July for 8 days so will post some into my gallery upon our return for you to view, that's if you don't need to purchase a tent before then.
Paula - That sounds great. We'll probably want to make a decision before then since we are going away around 8th August and want to order it a couple of weeks before to allow for delivery etc. i susect the aspen might cost more than we were thinking of but i'll check it out anyhow.
Paul - thanks for info re day room will also check that out.
I really appreciate everybodies help and suggestions - I've never really been on a forum before.
We've got the Vango Venture 500 and wouldn't swap it for another tent. I'm 6ft 2in and was in need of a tent I could easily stand up in and the V500 is ideal as both the bedroom area and the living space have more than enough headroom. Its really easy to pitch and has loads of space for storage. We mainly use it for weekends but have taken it away for 4 days and found it more than big enough. We're doing a 2 week break in it later in the year and I have no concerns about space. For the money I don't think there are any better tents on the market - and believe me I tried to find one!
Excellent, thanks for that Jimbob, it sounds like the vango venture 500 is a winner! I'll let you know how I get on if I get that one in the end which is looking very probable :-)
We've just gotten into camping and have returned from the camping show put on by HiPeak camping in Stoke-On-Trent (held at Central Forest Park). We went for the Vango Venture 500. I looked a well designed tent, which had space in the right places. There's only me my wife and the dog but we found some of the tents were restricted in one place or another. The tent cost £98 and we've just gotta find somewhere to put it up as we've not got the space here !!
Excellent, thanksf or that info. It's good to go to camping shows so you can see what they look like before you get them, unfortunatley we don't have time to do that but it seems the vango has a good rep.
Sorry for repeating myself, but if you want the Vango then you really should get to a Decathlon store if you can (www.decathlon.co.uk) before their sale finishes. £79 is a great price (or £55, if the scanning computer is still wrong).
it must be a good tent the vango tho - cos it was nicked out of the boot of my car one night .
i think the thieves probably thought it was a laptop of some sort cos of the type of case the vango is in LOL
