Hi,

We are a family of 4 (including two young kids) looking for a tent for weekend camping.  We have a Sunncamp Vario 6 for longer holidays, but would like something smaller and quicker to put up for those spur-of-the-moment trips!

Started looking last year and quite liked the Coleman Weathermaster for speed of erection and vis-a-vis style!  However, most places seem to have run out of stock and can't find a 2006 model out yet.

Also like the look of the Vango Aurora 400/600, but haven't seen one in the flesh - has anyone got any experience with this yet (or is this a new 2006 model)?

And of course, the Montana 4 has a great spec, and is highly recommended in UKCS, but more expensive than the Vangos.

What are your views?  Is it worth spending extra on the Montana 4?

Thanks

Having put up a Montana ourselves and watched someone else put up an Aurora, I would say that the Montana is a quicker and more straightforward tent to put up. The living space of the Montana is better quality as well, I think.

OTOH, if you're keeping an eye on the pennies I have seen others speak well of the Aurora in terms of  value for money. MT

Hi

I've got a Montana 4 and great for weekends but if you are watching the pennies have a look at the Easycamp Napoli (made by same company as Outwell) that was the other tent we considered.

I have the Napoli and the Montana ( 12, but just ordered a 4 as well ).  If money is not tight, then go for the Montana 4.  The Napoli is good, but the Montana is great.  It is certainly worth the extra £100.
