if you can i would go with airbeds with mats underneath them and a blanket on top of the air bed if you want to be warm.

Air bed for us..! We also have mats under it to keep the cold out.

Air beds can be cheaper than the mats. We found that even the expensive mats were not very good and offered little comfort.

We got the air bed from Argos and from what I can remember it was only £9.99 for a double.

I vote self -inflating mats too! I've never tried sleeping on an airbed - they look like a faff* and I'm far too warm and comfy on my mat to investigate whether they're worth it.MT

like most people we have airbeds and would not swap them. a roll mat underneath though does make a big diference to your comfort.
