Have now decided against the second hand tent as it is twelve years old and been stored for at least five years going on six. (earlier post re rubber roof).
We want to go an look at some tents but really struggling to find somewhere locally, shame the one in Cambridgeshire is not opening until April. We live on the Bedfordshire Herts border, don’t mind travelling an hour or so for a good supplier. Any ideas please?
i would not bother with complete outdoors they dont have a display of family tents, touchwood in oxford would be the best, but they have been purchased by GO OUTDOORS and currently closing down before a refit, however they have some great saving , i got £120 off a Aspen 500 DLX.
Complete Outdoors have 2 premises, and the one I referred to just outside Hemel does put tents up at weekends on display, last year I lokked inside a Hartford, and an Outwell Colorado 8. I would say those are family tents.
I would also think that if they stock a particular tent that you would like to see up, a quick phonecall before the weekend would be enough to make sure they get a display model out.
i visited the bourne end shop a few weekends ago and they had nothing but a few 1 or 2 man tents out, no sign of anything bigger , endded up in touchwoods they had 12 family tents out 6 vango & 6 outwells, they also had displays indoors of coleman tent, so if your looking to see a good range on perminant display then drop by oxford.
we bought our first tent from tony wildes very helpful and had a good range on display I would phone first to see if the display tents are up as his is an out door displat area also there was a camping and caravaning retailer at Billing Aquadrome northants with an out door display

My display will compete with the best and i have a huge accessory department. My prices should be great also as ive invested a huge amount of money so i could get the best prices from the suppliers. Gary we would have loved to visit your shop and still might, but hoping to get something soonest, so we can go at Easter. We will need the practice putting it up.
