Thanks again mature student! See what you mean about berth size our current tent is sold as 8 and is a brill size for us but when i had a look at outriggers the outwell 6 berth was double the size! way to clumsy it was like a cathedral! We do like the headroom but that was way over the score the sunncamp ones look good do you know any dealers in scotland where you can see these? hubby thinks it may be better to nosy at other folks this summer so we get a really good idea of what they're really like!
Looking forward to our new car now, we were a bit worried as we didn't know anyone else with one! I think it will be from Chathams in Dunf, it's through my work so they will see to all that I just pick the car and they do all the hard work! bliss! thankfully they pay for the tyres too Phew! PS i work in the library just down the road from you!
Looking at their website, there's half a dozen stockists in Scotland including a couple in East Lothian. May be worth giving them a phone to see if they have one up or if they could put one up for you if you're coming over specially to see it in the flesh.
And having a nosy isn't too bad an idea either - as far as I can tell most campers are only too happy to show off their pride and joy!
As for the car, remember it's just an Audi A4/VW passat in another guise! And if you were having to buy it yoursef, a few k cheaper than the equivalent passat.
There are only two of us and we have the Outwell Montana 6. They were so popular they sold out last year. It is easy to put up if you search on here for the instructions, has headroom all round and we found it very resilient to bad weather having had two storms during our time in France.
Please don't dismiss them just because they look large when up, you will need all the space you can get with all those little 'uns and even just the two of us we managed to fill it up quite nicely!
It only takes an hour or so to put it up including all the pegging out and guy ropes.
Thanks Ali, we did have another look at the outwell brochure today and a Montana 6 looks a bit neater than the display Indiana we seen. You want a decent living area in case of wet weather but you need to keep warm and cosy too. I
What do you think's a good deal on a montana 6? I like the design with the side porch instead of the huge clumsy front porch on some of the other models.
