Am I right in thinking that the Campus Yale does not have actual inner tents for sleeping in ie that it is a dual skinned inner-first tent, with privacy curtains which can be used to separate off sleeping areas? MT
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
We plan on using ours th same way. Just one big bedsitting area as there is only the 2 of us although we may use one of the curtains to block off the storage area. The bedrooms probably wouldnt uit a family wanting privacy but the tent is great for a couple.
HI, I read some where that the curtains were zipped. Is this the case? Our last tent had just a flimsy curtain which was held up by toggles - hence getting a new one.
Sorry just one more thing... doesn't the sleeping area feel abit exposed to the damp when the tent is open up?
The curtains do have a zip up the centre and I cant see why the bedroom area should get damp because it is not enclosed. The whole tent is enclosed as it has a SIG and is double skinned so there shouldnt be any damp problems anywhere. No more than any other tent anyway.
The curtains are removable. They are attached to the inner tent with toggles and loops and zipped down the centre.
The OutdoorMegastore Yale is a good deal at £99.99. That is where we originaly saw the Yale. We have gone for the new model Yale as we sold a Diablo for a good price and decided that the changes would be worth spending the Diablo money on. We like the colour and the extra windows and it will be our only tent so worth the extra £50 to us.
I'm sure the cutain will be fine. The reason we chose the yale was for the SIG to keep out the draghts and bugs. It seems to be a lot of tent for that price.
You lucky thing having the new version. It seems much better with the windows and I think that I prefer the colour too. Still I am quite excited about the 2005 (luckily).
Our first tent was a cheapy Tesco 4 berth dome tent. It was great value and served us well last year. It was the first time I had ever gone camping so didn't want to spend too much money if we didn't get on with it. But we have caught the camping bug, and wanted a much bigger tent and one which would alst a bit longer.
I have just received a dispatch receipt for our new tent! Just in time to try it out over Easter in time for our trip the following week!
It is the 2005 version they have up in Outdoor megastore and it is a great tent. Lots of room and I love the idea of not having that bottom lip to the bedroom as the curtain just hangs to the floor. I always managed to trip over that, even without a drink LOL
I would have got that one and I know this sounds daft but all my camping furniture is blue and grey cos the Diablo we had before was blue and grey. I bought the new one solely on the colour cos I didnt want to put blues with greens. How stupid is that !!! but I am pleased with the extra windows and although the colours of the '05 model are fine I'm pleased that all my stuff goes better with the '06 model.
