Hi,

Another newbie wanting a few answers about their tent. I bought a Sunncamp vario 6 plus in the sale last year and have never used it (going away in 5 weeks).  We had our second practise run at putting it up at the weekend and it was very windy, nearly took off at one point..lol.I would like to know the best way to put the skirts at the bottom as the wind was just blasting under it?  Also do I peg it down and then pull the straps to make it go down to the floor or do I pull them before pegging?  Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Rachel

Rachel- lay it out straps down. Push poles through. When all poles through put pole tips into rings- theres one at each end of those straps. Try not to tighten the straps or they will not go in. Force poles into hoop shape 1 by one- it is very difficult- strong people reqd. Keep it on floor till all 4 hoops are formed. Now- hard bit- take hold of the back guiderope, and stand still. Get strong mate to get hold of front guide rope and walk forward, so the tent stretches out and forms the tunnel. Peg back end down with 3 guide ropes then go round front and help friend stretch it out. The straps by now should be on the floor. If theyre too tight/loose you might not have been able to form hoops properly, so if tent is a funny shape try to get tension on straps right. Its not the easiest tent to put up- as you would read by other posts, but theyre very popular so if you go to a busy site theres bound to be others there who can help you. Once its up- is great for the space. Theres a pic of it on my profile. Joanne
