We had our first tent off ebay which was a cheap one - we found a sealant spray in the local camp shop which you spray on the seams - it did the trick as we only kept the tent for one season before we got a bigger one !

Our first tent was a cheapie Footpath from Makro. You could watch it getting lower and lower, day by day, as it gradually collapsed! Luckily, we had great weather and so no catastrophes but I think that was luck rather than judgement! We had opportunity to mooch about and look at all the other tents on site, before going back into ours after it was dark so no-one could see us!

We still talk about the dear ol' Footpath: "Remember that bloody awful orange and blue thing we started out with....."

You live and learn...

Sold it for a kid's play tent and only lost about twenty quid, so could have been worse. (If it had rained, or been windy, it could have been a LOT worse!)
