Hope you can help us.  We bought a Vango Diablo 600 (2005 model) late last season and have not yet pitched it.  We are planning our first outing very shortly and thinking of going to Callow Top in Derbyshire - have any other Vango diablo 600 owners pitched there?  The campsite owners tell me that the maximum pitch size is 30 ft by 30 ft -does that help?  Any other ideas on Peak dirstrict campsites that take dogs, children and big tents would be much appreciated.  Many thanks.

If you drew a square around the tent it ends up about 9mx9m. You should fit onto  a 10x10 pitch no problem, just work out how best to orientate the tent so you can fit the car on the pitch as well.

We are going to this site soon but as it's only for  a couple of days we are taking the Montana 4 rather than the Diablo600.

Have a great time

John

We have Diablo 600 and  have no problems thus far in terms of fitting on a pitch.

Good luck and happy camping.

We've got the 900 and a pitch that size wont be a problem, go on just enjoy it.

When we stayed at Callow Top, we found the pitches to be quite tight (and we had a 4 man tunnel tent at the time). You might find you can pitch the tent, but have no room to park your car.

I'd rather be camping

Thanks everybody.  Isn't ukcampsite a great site!

Also, we will take printed copies of all the guidance that we have found here on pitching the Diablo beast...........

Looking forward to it though as we ventured into our neighbours' diablo 600 when our 15 year old canvas frame tent let us down in rain last year.

p.s. we ARE keeping her (a litchfield MONTANA six man ) as we can't let her go!

It'll fit nay problem.

I recommend you buy the Vango 600 Groundsheet Footprint ( about £25) - it keeps you SIG spotless; but even better allows you to position the tent exactly where you want it!

Thanks Jesterman - what a great idea - we have located a GS on the 'net at 24.99 - will be ordering it, seems like a good idea and will hopefully help us to avoid just being fair weather campers, as well as making it easier to decide where to pitch.
