looking for a tent to try camping out, i am 35, the wife 34 and the monsters 9+6, i want something easy to put up, no messing around, it must be at least 6 birth, purely for space, the cheaper the better, although i want something waterproof, i am 6ft so must be 6ft minimum. i dont want something crap, we might not like camping so no point spending hundreds, although the expensive ones do look nice. as mentioned something quick to put up and take down.

it will be for long weekends.

Hi

Our last tent was an Aztec Palacio, its a  6 person dome tent, very easy to erect and I've just seen one on ebay an hour ago.

Good luck

This one is one I had a couple of years ago, I paid £150 in argos sale. It's very easy for a first timer to put up. loads of room, and you can stand up in the bedroom too.

loved this tent, it was a great bargain for the size of it.

It had a good size living area, I had a table with the seats attached , cooker stand , preparation table, large fridge, stacking boxes for bits & bobs and 4 extra chairs and still room to move around.

the bedroom was enormous. It was one huge bedroom with a dividing curtain you could put up in the middle. There were flyscreens on the two bedroom doors. You can put four double airbeds in and still have a bit of room around them. It was very high too, no bending your head anywhere. At the rear of the tent there was a handy storage area, behind the bedrooms accessed through the rear door. There was a front and side door too that you could have pegged out as a canopy.

get a blue builders tarpaulin from B&Q for about £6, 5mx4m to lay under the groundsheetand this will cover almost the whole floor of the tent, keeping your groundsheets and inner tent clean, and to fold the tent up on afterwards.

It was very easy to put up, and stable and cosy in some very bad weather conditions.

You won't be dissapointed, great tent for starting out. I know there are better quality versions of this tent but the prices can be two or three times as much. It was the first synthetic tent I had, we'd had a canvas frame tent before, and I couldn't fault it.

Hi Morphe, we had a dome tent until a couple of weeks ago. We sold it and bought a tunnel tent. 6 berth Khyam yale.We personally think that a tunnel tent is much easier than a dome tent to erect. We loved our Aztec (dome) it had lots of room inside with three bedrooms but, it got to the point because of ill health that I found it hard work putting it up. That's why we ended up buying the tunnel tent. We only had it today and put it up this afternoon. It went up so quickly without any effort really. Lots of room in it....plenty for us anyway. It will make going away for weekends much more pleasureable knowing that we don't have to erect the big one . Whoops!! you know what I mean.

Anyway good luck with your hunt for the perfect tent. We have found ours .

Angie & John
