HIYA PLEASE COULD SOMEBODY GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON THE BEST WAY TO PACK UP A WET TENT HOPEFULLY IT WONT BE RAINING WHEN WE PACK UP BUT JUST IN CASE WHATS BEST AND HOW LONG IS THE TENT ALRIGHT WET FOR JUST INCASE ITS STILL RAINING WHEN WE GET HOME THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME
Hi Samantha, I'm sure someone will be along with a knowledgeable answer soon, but we just pack away exactly the same way, wet or dry. I get it up to dry asap, but its been a week or so before now, and its always been ok. If it keeps raining it keeps raining, theres not a lot you can do about it is there? Anyway they dry off really quickly, I shouldn't worry too much. Have fun!
I think I'd try and get it dried within a couple or three days, otherwise you are in danger of mildew getting into it.
If it is still raining at this time, either sacrifice a bedroom for a night and spread it out to air it, or hang it out on the line anyway. It will still get aired that way.
When packing it in the rain try and always fold it clean to clean, and dirty to dirty.
I DIDNT NEED TO KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO DRY JUST HOW LONG IT IS OK TO BE LEFT WET AND IN ITS BAG FOR I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY NEVER TO PACK UP IN THE RAIN BUT THIS WEEKEND LUCKS LIKE BEING THE EXCEPTION THANKS
I think I'll go camping when you do in future if the weathers has been good thus far. Maybe you should stick your dates on the forum, then we can all get some decent weather!!!

Sorry Bandit Gray.....just being nosey here. Just looked at your profile and was wondering if bottom picture (bike in tent) is on a football pitch (Kirk Michael FC) on the Isle of Man during TT week???
I KNOW THE TOPIC STATES THAT BUT AT THE TIME I WAS DOING IT I WAS BEING HARASSED TO DEATH OF A THREE YEAR OLD AND HIS TOYS AND THE DOG WANTED TO GO OUT SO I DID IT QUICK AND WHEN YOU READ THE THE FULL QUESTION IT DOESNT MENTION THE DRYING TIME
I GO AWAY EVERY BANK HOLIDAY AND THIS YEAR AT THE BEGINNIING OF AUGUST SO TAKE YOUR BREAKS THEN AND I USUALLY GO TO ANGELSEY BUT THIS YEAR TO PEMBROKE THANKS FOR THE REPLIES
We have packed our tent away wet on a few occasions. Don't leave it packed away for more than 2-3 days and it should be ok. We've also packed it away wet due to condensation (packing early in the morning) and again you need to get it back out and up again within a couple of days. Then leave it up in your garden, or wherever, until you've had a good dry spell. You're ok then, pack it away again. We just pack up the same wet or dry, it's the amount of time you leave it packed away wet that can do the damage.

Hi BOD - You are bang on there mate. It is the football club site. Taken 2005 TT week. An absolutely cracking spot. A clubhouse bar across the pitch, which means you can stagger back to the tent at night, and if you don't make it, you wake up within crawling distance ... Marvellous.
Peter who runs it, is a geat bloke, always has a chat with you. In fact, if there was an event in the Olympics for talking, I think he'd be a top contender.
I'm doing the MGP this year instead of the TT, but have booked a passage for TT 2007.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
