There are some innovative tents around, but has anyone actually seen these, the Constellation range, at Blacks?

They actually have inbuilt lighting:

  • Constellation Series light system comprising two LED lights (each with three LEDs) which can be attached to various points around the tent with Velcro® and give very long battery life
  • I notice that one is called the 'Lupus', funny naming a tent after an autoimmune disease!

We were thinking of buying one - can't remember the name of it now, but we saw one instore. The lights werent working in the shop but I felt the dark fabric was really clostraphobic (sp?). Quality wise- the outwell montana 4 we chose in the end seemed miles better.

Think the LED's might be a bit of a gimic?

Little Scamp has a Lupus - lovely tent!  It's HUGE for just one 14-year old, but at least she's got plenty of space (she has a little Vango tunnel tent too, for when she needs to be able to carry it and pitch it herself , like her C&CC Youth Test!!).  It takes 2 to pitch, really, but it goes up quickly, and she loves the lights - they give a white light that she finds great for reading - her favourite late-night and early-morning passtime.  The Lupus' porch is a very useful space too - plenty big enough to store kit, and to stay out of the weather while cooking (Little Scamp is just learning to cook on a Trangia and loving it) - there's a large roll-up front door, and a HUGE side door, so you can open whichever is better for keeping out rain and wind.

(if this post 'eats' the reply box, I'm sorry - I made a mistake with the link for my ticker, and now can't get into my profile to delete it - hopefully the PTB will put it right, and not ban me for being incurably thick!!).
