Off camping for the first time in August and will be tacking EHU, can anyone tell me if they take or is it safe to take and use their own household kettle, toaster and iron or is it better to buy the travel one's?

you should be ok, but only use em 1 at a time as they use quit a lot of juice, a lot of sites have ironing facilitys and we normaly iron before we go and then just fold out clothes up neatly, also if you put the extra money towards your hob you could get  a grill to and then you could do without the toaster

If you want decent toast, take the toaster...our hob /grill (Sunncamp) is naff for toast...we bought a toaster for a fiver from Morrisons, great bit of kit

always take household kit, even got a fridge, never had a problem, just be careful not to overload. mind you after a week who cares if your clothes are a bit crinkly.

We use "normal" kettle, toaster, ets. but only one at a time to save the embarrassment of a tripped circuit. Had no problems.

I agree with the previous posts; take your own it makes no difference and they are better made than 'travel' appliances, they are just made to be more compact to fit in your suitcase.

You just have to be sensible when using things like the oven, heaters, ac units concurrently.

We take a travel iron but dont use it regular.  We had a hob with grill and they are totally useless as a grill so take your toaster from home.  We also take a fridge which we have at home in the kids bedroom.

We bought an EHU ,but we only use it for a heater and only when its very very cold ,so far have only used it in april/may ,Never take an EHU in Summer atall !

To me its half the fun standing out in the morning dew watching the sun getting higher in the sky ,waiting ofr a kettle to boil on the gas stove and the smell of bacon frying mixed with the freshness of outdoors !

Cant beat it

Only use the EHU for the fridge and lighting. The whistling kettle on the gas makes a good alarm clock for OH.
