Just returned from 3 days in North Yorks (Castle Howard Site) and one night at Keswick (Castlerigg Hall Site) on our first camping adventure....and we loved it! Both sites were great and we met some lovely folk (got the empty beer cans and wine bottles to prove it!) All in all, a terrific way to spend a week, we're converts for life!

Ooh we're off to Castle Howard on the 28th, is it good?
We enjoyed it anyway! It was very quiet, only 4 tents on site at any one time, but there had been a rally there just before we arrived so it could be a busy place too. Lovely, spotlessly clean shower/toilet block, though you'll have to head to Malton, (10 mins) for shopping. Great spot to explore North Yorkshire and York itself is only 20-30 mins away and has a great park and ride service. If, like us, you get great weather, it's a lovely, quiet place to chill the wine, chill the beer and chill out!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
