I am going to attempt to put my tent up in the garden but have never put one up before and wanted some advice.  I read a post from someone who had a Coleman Columbia 10 and they said they had managed to put it up with relative ease after reading threads on this site.  I have searched for the threads but can't find them.  Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Julie

Julie,

we brought ours 3 weeks ago and its really easy. But you do need a big garden 8 meters by 8 meters. The instructions are are quite easy.If you have had a Tescos cheapy tent that you slide the poles through the seams your half way there. Just remember to slip them through the loops in the middle of the tent( something that we forgot about until the last minute.

Dawn,

Are there detailed instructions inside the tent?  I haven't unravelled it yet so wondered if they were wrapped inside the tent.  The only instructions I can see are attached to the carry bag and look very sketchy at best.

Julie

Dawn

I've got mummy sleeping bags for the children and double air beds for the bedrooms.  Got the sleeping bags from Asda for 12.95 and they are 2-3 season -5.  They seem really good.

Garden is big enough but has a path down the middle with edging.  Was just going to put the tent over it very carefully!!

Wasn't planning on sleeping in it in the garden by the way!!  Just wanted to see how easy it was to put up before we go away.

The instructions are quite easy once you get your head roud them a bit like Ikea flat pack stuff. Remember that when you slip in the main cross poles to incude slipping through the loops right in the middle of th tents seam otherwise like we found out the middle sinks as its not held up

Good Luck

Dawn

Tell me how you got on later

Will do, thanks for the advice.  Reluctant OH is putting it up with me.  Adamant he doesn't want to go camping.  I'm hoping he'll change his mind once he sees it in all its glory.  Thankfully brother in law going camping so will at least have another pair of hands when I get there!

My brother in law has the same tent too. It took us novices just over an hour to put up one and just over 1/2 hour to do the second. I just read out the instructions.

just hope they go up easy in a few days time

Hi Julie
