hi, i posted on this forum late last week requesting posts to advice my wife on giving in and to come camping , well she did and we have just returned . she took 2 books and her cross stitch to keep her busy at night . none of which she touched , she was very suprised how quick the evening past we sat outside our tent with our kids and just talked ,drank and fed ourselfs , a truly great weekend had buy all some much so we are planning our next outing . we only had one problem , we purchased self inflating thermalite mats that we found we could not take to them , we did not have pillows so i know we can get them , the height was aproblem only acouple of cm off the ground and also not so wide , could any one recomend a decent airbed (double) thanks
Glad your wife enjoyed your camping trip. The standard recommendation for airbeds is the Coleman Comfort which is a double that you can inflate differently on each side.
Personally I'm an inflating mattress fan and we just take some normal pillows with us (some cheap thinnish ones that squish into corners!)
Hi Den ... pleased it all went well ...... you can take pillows from home and sit on them for travelling ....... with an airbed ..... not so much right now, but when it's not so hot - you will need something underneath it as well as on top (ie: silver backed picnic blanket - Lilds £5 ish) .... the air in the bed will get as cold as the air outside
The Coleman Comfort double airbed is the best around, as P&T says.
Any of the supermarkets do cheap pillows...get washable ones for campng. Or try the half sized camping pillows made by Vango etc if packing space is tight.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
