Hiya all x I am looking to buy a new tent for me,hubby and my 2 girsl who are 4 and 7..
We want a good size,2 or 3 beds with a good living area so I can cook and put a table in if possible.
Anyone got any good reccomendations as there are loads of tents around! I did buy the Deluxe family tent pack from Halfords that came with sleeping bags/lamps/air beds but when we practiced putting it up today we were unhappy with the finish quality so are taking it back...
I have just been looking on outdoor world and they have a package of everything we could possibly need and the tent is a Campus Brekenridge, any one know if this is good make and easy to erect?
Any ides/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly recieved..We used to have a folding camper but sold it as did not like towing so are used to the great outdoors so to speak, but there are so many diff types of tent around!
The Campus Brekenridge is a fabulous tent - very spacious and will withstand the worst weather! We had the Deluxe version but recently sold it to buy an Outwell Montana 12, the main reason being they are so darned time-consuming to erect and it was taking the joy out of going away on a whim with me dreading the arguments hubby and I would have putting the darned thing up and trying to occupy our 3 kids whilst we did it!
We put the Montana 12 up in 30 mins on our first attempt, as opposed to 2 & half hours with the Brekenridge Deluxe (we did get this down to 50 mins, but with guys all pegged etc it was a good 90 mins). Plus, the Brekenridge's erect inner first - so if it's raining, you have to be super quick to avoid getting it soaked. With the Montana it erects all-in-one, so no matter if it's raining.
Any of the tents which have the cross-over poles in the middle are going to be fiddly to put up - compared to tunnel tents like the Montana 12.
Incidentally, the Montana 12 would be a good size for you, especially as you can take down a couple of the bedroom pods if you like and have an extra large living area instead.
Plenty of tunnel tents to choose from - I would certainly only ever consider these in future.

Outdoor World price for the Beckinridge is currently £199. The "package" that I think you're referring to is £369.
I, personally wouldn't pay £170 for the additional equipment. For instance, those plastic all in one table/chairs are pretty much useless and can be bought now for about £18.
Get the tent by all means, it's a good 'un, but shop around for the other stuff. That way you'll get what you actually want and probably cheaper too.
www.awnings.co.uk have a special offer section selling last years tents about half price. All top brands at great prices. Many members here have bought from them recently and been very happy with the service. Worth a look for a bargain.
I agree. We have an Outwell Montana 6 - for 2 adults and 2 girls - it's the right size for us. Bigger than we need at the moment but room to grow. We felt the Montana 12 was too big for us.
HI WE HAVE THE BRECKINRIDGE DELUXE AND ITS EXCELLENT FOR SPACE. YOU CAN EASILY FIT A TABLE AND CHAIRS IN LIVING AREA. WE EVEN TAKE WARDROBE WITH US. REALLY SPACIOUS WELL WORTH THE MONEY ONLY DOWNFALL IS THE TIME TO GET IT UP BUT NOT TOO BAD IF NOT JUST GOING FOR WEEKEND
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
