Hi,I am just about to buy a new cooker,2 rings and a grill, and was wondering if I should go for calor gas or camping gas .Are they interchangeable, could i use calor gas on a camping gaz cooker? or other way round. which of them is available if we cross the water to say, ireland, or across to france. all help welcome as up till now i have only used small lightweight single "backpacking stoves". All advice welcome.
Calor is not available in France but a small 4.5 Kgs cylinder will last for ages, we've never had to buy any when we've been to France for a fortnight. Campingaz is readily available over there and a lot cheaper than here.
If you get a low pressure stove that is connected to the bottle by a regulator it is simply a matter of buying the other sort of regulator as well and you can change from one to the other.
But if the stove is attached direct to the bottle then you can only use Campingaz.
